Shizzam! This is the latest skein of sock yarn for the Sweet Sheep Sock Club. It's called Winterberry from All Things Heather. It is delectable. :)
Okay, with that out ofthe way, we may now look at what I've been cro-shay-ing. Yup.
The above square appealed to me because it reminded me of Hawaiian quilt motifs. (Sheep included for scale. His name is Earl...I think.) It's made out of the remnants of my acrylic stash. You can't tell, but my gauge was a lot looser when I made the center black portion so it kinda poufs out unattractively. Argh.
The second square was a lot easier to make. I like the way it turned out.
Unfortunately, the squares aren't the same size. I can't really use them together, so I'll just keep them for reference. Maybe I'll buy more acrylic. Maybe. But I used some scrap LL Shepherd Worsted and I'm totally rethinking that idea. Bring on the Cascade 220! Melikes the wool. Yes. Wool. Not scritchy scratchy acrylic. But I am liking the crochet. Very much. :)
Oh yeah...try this on for size! It's a scattergory type thingie. This took me FOREVER. (Well, more like twenty minutes.)

Wow, lovely crochet work...
I'm harking back to my barbie-doll-blanket-years looking at your squares...I love the Hawaiian quilt look.
Over on my blog I did the scattergories thing...I think maybe "J" is a lot harder than "M" though.
I love your crochet squares! I've heard that crochet is faster than knitting, but I've never found that to be the case. I'm the slowest crocheter alive.
That sheep has quite a saucy look on his face! Like, what's up? I'm totally intrigued by your letter game there, but since my first letter would be O, I think it would be very challenging indeed.
Lovely yarn...Heather makes the lovliest fiber...
Love the blocks. The Hawaiian one is really pretty. Reminds me of all those lovley orchids.
I've had trouble with different blocks coming out different sizes also...even though the patterns clearly state they are interchangable.
Earl is very cute indeed.
Have a nice, safe trip.

Jaunty hats? LMAO! Cute.
The Winterberry colorway is quite pretty. And your crochet is very nice! Looks like you found a decent break from knitting! But you still have an excuse to buy yarn! :)
I love that yarn from The Sweet Sheep Sock Club. Yummy!
That colorway of yarn is gorgeous! I am so glad to see you crocheting. I do miss making the blankets I used to crochet. Oh, you enabler, YOU! Maybe I will do that for my next project. My next post will have that list. At least I know my actor -- Keeanu Reeves!! ;)
=:8
I like it - you happy hook-er you - I love the colorway, can't wait to see what you do with it.
That one square is very Hawaiian quiltish- I like it!
aah... yarn pr0n. beautiful colorway.
i'm so behind on my blog reading, but i wanted to check in with my faves first. your post today reminded me that i'd like to get out the crochet hook as well, even if only it's because i'm told that crochet goes faster and ravenously eats yarn and may help make a bit of room in our apartment for the out of control stash.
i enjoyed your thoughts on knitting for others from a couple of weeks ago. i just found out that my brother's wife is pregnant and the first thing I did was plan out all of the stuff i was going to make for this little kid. and maybe one day after his/her 2000 handknit from his/her aunt, they'll realize how much i love them now even if I haven't even met them yet.
oh, and just be glad you name isn't xavier.
