She sent me a book with instructions to make different Kumihimo accessories,
Two Kumihimo kits, one with a circular disc and the other with a square plate...
A lovely postcard, a package of make make yarn (like the kind currently sold at kpixie), and gorgeous stitch markers in my favorite colors :)
Close-up of the stitch markers:
Hontoo ni doomo arigatoo gozaimashita, Lily! I am so honored that you are such a thoughtful and generous sockapaloooza pal. Thank you so so so much!I wanted to do something to show her my gratitude. I hopped on my sewing machine and came up with this. It's the first bag I've ever sewn in my life. I think it came out well. It seems sturdy and it's reversible, anyway.
I love the sheep-printed material.
I hope you like it, Lily! I think it will be great for knitting projects. :)
And I did finish those stripey socks. I had to tuck the toes over before sticking my feet in the shoes to model them. I used the Regia sock yarn gifted to me by my Secret Pal 8 spoiler (still haven't found the card with her information on it yet :[ Sorry!). They are practically identical except for the fact that the toes ended up a little uneven; one has more red on it than the other, but that's okay. You can't tell from this picture anyway.
And that's all! Happy Tuesday, folks.
ETA: have you seen these fish mittens? I'm smitten. I want to make fish mittens. CUTE!

8 oreos:
What a fabulous set of fun gifts! Nice bag that you made for her too.
Congratulations on your first sewn bag! Based on how wonderful it is, I'm sure there will be many sewing projects in the future! I love the sheepy fabric you used on the reverse side.
Lovely gifts! Nice bag there!! I like the shape of it! Love the socks..(the shoes even better! ;)!) And those fish mittens are too cute! :)
That's a great bag! I'm sure she'll be thrilled to get it. I also love the stitch markers she made for you...I hadn't seen them like that before, with the looped beading wire.
You'll have to tell me about that make make yarn. I've been swooning over it but wonder if it will be too warm for California...
Yea kumihimo!! Your gonna love it it's so fun!!
Neato goodies! Funky socks, too -- love 'em!
Well, Happy Birthday! Lucky you to get a boxful of goodies like that!
Nice job on your socks!
